Adam Półtawski

 

(1881–1952), printer, typographer, graphic artist, bibliophile. In schools of the printing industry, he lectured on the history of printing and typography, palaeography, electroforming and the methodology of graphic techniques. Member of the editorial board of "Grafika Polska" (1921–1926), and from 1930 the editor of the magazine "Grafika". Winner of numerous awards and distinctions at national and international exhibitions and competitions. One of the key organizers of associations of the pre-war and post-war Polish graphic designers. His project of the first Polish series of banknotes was implemented after regaining independence,  after World War I,. About the designer in: J. Sowiński, Adam Półtawski. Typograf artysta.
