Bona is a typeface created by Andrzej Heidrich in 1971. It is an italic style with a delicate angle. For many years, types in several sizes were stored in the typesetting studio of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where the typeface was used mainly for display purposes. Bona is based on a 15th-century Italian serif style. Andrzej Heidrich designed the basic set of characters: A-Z, a-z, numbers, basic punctuation, math symbols and diacritic marks. Ligatures and other characters were drawn later by another author. In 2017, a digital typeface called Bona Nova was created based on the original.
