Polish lettering of road signs - geometric typeface intended for vertical road signs in Poland, in accordance with the Annex nr. 1 to the Regulation on detailed technical conditions for road signs and signals and road safety devices and conditions for their placement on roads (Journal of Legislations of 2019, item 2311). It defines the construction of numbers, all letters of the Polish alphabet and the letter v (letters q and x were not included), as well as the following punctuation marks: hyphen, parenthesis, comma, period, and exclamation mark. The author of the typeface is Marek Sigmund, commissioned by the state authorities in 1975 during the implementation of the "Instructions on road signs and signals". The typeface was created in six weeks. According to the designer's assumptions, the characters of the typeface considered the creation of signage on the boards using the handwriting and stencil methods.
