Bogusław Jackowski

 

Bogusław Jackowski (born 1950), computer scientist, typographer, publisher, non-professional musician, co-owner of the prepress BOP studio in Gdańsk. After studies at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Gdańsk University of Technology, a programmer in the computer center of the University of Gdańsk, then a specialist in numerical methods at the Institute of Hydroengineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Founding member of the Polish TeX Users Group (GUST). Actively participates in the development of free software (public domain) supporting computer composition, incl. fonts. Together with Janusz M. Nowacki, he is the creator of the Latin Modern family of typefaces based on Computer Modern. He leads the international team creating the OpenType math fonts collection (TeX Gyre project).
