Helena Nowak-Mroczek, graphic artist, magazine designer. She graduated in 1972 with the first diploma under the supervision of Roman Tomaszewski in printing lettering at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, at the department of prof. Józef Mroszczak. The diploma was composed of: the design of the Helikon typeface and the pioneering dissertation, Elements of design and aesthetic evaluation of printing typefaces, presenting the method used at the Center for Typefaces in Warsaw. She is the author of the Hel typeface family. In 1971–1977 she worked at the Center for Typefaces and at the same time graduated from the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. She also completed an apprenticeship at Adrian Frutiger's Parisian atelier. She currently lives in Switzerland and his name is Frutiger.
