Janusz Marian Nowacki

Janusz Marian Nowacki (1951–2020), photographer, typographer, owner of the Foto-Alfa company in Grudziądz. Author or co-author of the digitization of fonts created in the environment of TeX users, incl. Antykwa Toruńska and Antykwa Półtawskiego. Initiator of the creation of a team designing fonts for the international TeX community. His first big achievement was the polonization of the basic TeX family of fonts and preparing them in universal form (postscript fonts), which makes them useful also outside of TeX. In recognition of his merits, he was twice honored with the GUSTaw Award and the title of Honorary Member of GUST.
