The fonts of the Szczuka FA typeface are a reference to the Polish, not only typographical avant-garde and its two prominent figures – Mieczysław Szczuka and Teresa Żarnower. The Szczuka FA typeface is a tribute to these two designers. The fonts were inspired by the cover of a volume of poetry by Anatol Stern and Mieczysław Szczuka “Europa” from 1929 and the cover of “Obrona Warszawy” from 1942 – both designed by Żarnower. The typeface is heavy, massive and strong. Left-wing old school.
